A Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

A Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold is a touching and tragic story.  Tells the story of a girl named Susie Salmon who was horribly murdered by her neighbor.
At that time, Susie was coming home from school through a shortcut in the cornfield, she met her neighbor, George Harvey, who invited Susie to see a work he had made under the ground.  But that day was Susie's last day on earth. She was tragically murdered by her own neighbor.

Behind her death, Susie was able to see everyone closest to her behind her own world, starting from her parents, her sister, her friends, even the life of the murderer who took her life. She saw how lost everyone close to her was, while the murderer himself was able to live a normal day without anyone knowing what he had done. But slowly he watched as the people closest to him began to get up and live the day without him. Despite this, they are still trying to find Susie's body, which has not been found.

This novel contains a touching story and at the same time the story is truly terrifying.  A mixture of longing, sadness, love and great anger.  Susie Salmon's story brings readers to open their hearts to feel something beyond this mortal world.
